Hello. Long time console gamer here. Although I've always had high end PC's, I've never been a fan of PC gaming. As I'm starting to appreciate sim racers more and getting impatient waiting for the next Forza, I thought I'd give LFS a shot. I have a Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Force Feedback wheel and a Wireless USB Adapter which enables me to use the wheel on the PC. In LFS the wheel seems to work fine except I have no force feedback. LFS recognizes it as a generic wheel only. How can I enable force feedback. Yes the Force Feedback switch is on. Thanks in advance. Hope to join you all soon.

it's a driver issue, wait for MS to release proper drivers.

Have you heard any details on the drivers update or when it may be coming? Other than the small blurb at the bottom of the wireless receiver description, I've seen nothing and I'm concerned that it is not a priority.

Thanks. It is ridiculous that they would release the PC usb wireless adapter without proper drivers for the wheel. :( They have a photo of the wheel on the back of the usb wireless adapter packaging! I'll email Xbox customer support.

is it supported by the 3rd party XBox controller driver (XBCD)? I'm using an XBox 1 joypad, rumble works fine (triggers don't but that another matter, lol)

Proper force feedback through wireless power seems very unlikely to me (or you'd always be changing the batteries) are you sure it's not just some rumble effect? If windows picks up the wheel as a force feedback device LFS should pick it up straight away if you've got more than one joystick/gamepad/wheel plugged in it can be more awkward to get it too work in LFS (but still possible) so could you please detail:
a) What you've got plugged in in terms of game controllers
b) If the wheel truly offers FF

That's the fun part of this "wireless" wheel. It is wireless in regard to connecting to the xbox 360 (or PC). However, to take advantage of the force feedback it must be plugged into to a wall outlet and not use the battery pack as the power source.
The description for the wireless receiver that allows the xbox 360 accessory to be used on a PC hints to the real issue. The last line of the description states that force feedback support for the PC will be added in an updated driver at a later date. The FF works great on the 360 with supported titles but it is a no-go for now on the PC until it gets the proper driver support.

Did you find anything out from customer support? I emailed them as well and got a "call the support line" response. I called today and explained the situation three or four times. They kept thinking I was having issues on the 360 not the PC but I believe they finally understood. They are shipping me a "fulfillment" that includes a CD with firmware/driver upgrade. I have no idea if this is going to resolve the issue or if they never understood the problem but it does sound promising. I'll post next week after it arrives.

I'm having the same problem at the minute with mine, so much so I may consider buying a true PC Force feedback steering wheel and selling it on ebay when the driver updates are available.

Yup, Force Feedback support is to come in a driver update sooner or later...
However, my other concern is the pedal axis. The pedals can't be set to separate axis, resulting in the unability to throttle and brake at the same time. Can separate pedal axis be implemented through software updates? Even my old Driving Force wheel supports separate pedal axis, so I'm pretty disappointed that this brand new set does not.

Seriously? That is a huge problem! So if you are 100% throttle and 50% brake you are actually 50% throttle and 0% brake? That is seriously weak.
Regarding FF on PC, I've received nothing but the automated response from email, so I'm going to try calling soon as well just to increase their call volume on this issue.

Well, yeah, I guess so. It's like using forward and back on a joystick for accelerate/brake.
Now where is that patch?? :(

I got bored of waiting for the patch and decided to buy a DFP instead :thumb:

Isn't there a wireless reciever for PC so you can connect your wireless xbox 360 gear to your comp?
Headset, controller, wheel, the lot?

The wireless receiver has been released but it has been rushed into production (like almost everything Micro$oft related)
there is no force feedback support for the wheel at the moment.

An update is out for the PC/Xbox360 Wireless Adapter but Force Feedback still doesn't seem to be supported. Bummer. I should have never bought the Microsoft Wheel. I can't believe this. By the way, I did get a response from customer support but they simply said they don't know when the patch will be available.

There's several issues that need to be addressed for the wireless controllers and wheel to use all their features on the PC.
yeah, microsoft plans on releasing a driver update for the wireless controllers to enable rumble/force feedback.
BUT, microsoft developed these controllers using a new API, XInput, not DirectInput. DirectInput is what every other controller and wheel has been using ever since they developed that, but they developed XInput specifically for the xbox360 controllers and you can bet they'll try to strongarm controller makers and software devs to use this in the future. some of the things XInput does vs. DInput for the 360 controllers (wired and wireless) is that it gives you rumble/force feedback, and assigns the triggers/pedals to their own axes instead of +/- on a single axis.
so basically, games that want to have support to xbox controllers are going to have to implement XInput.
however... 3rd party drivers like XBCD already take care of this, but they only work for the wired controllers. the devs of the driver don't have the wireless reciever, so they can't figure out how the wireless reciever translates the wireless controllers' signals.
so until microsoft releases the new drivers and LFS devs implement XInput, or 3rd party driver devs figure out how to work with the wireless controllers, we'll just have to wait. and it's going to be a fairly long wait :\
