bf1 is real but you're only demo status.
Real cars need manufaturers licence = $$$$ or licence violation

So if you're sure it has been discussed before why not use the search to find the answer to your question?
Anyway, the BF1 is real, The RA is real, the MRT is real, other cars like the FO8 and FOX are very much like their real life counterparts (Formula 3000 and Formula Renault), other cars are mixes of real life cars.

A brand logo on a car doesn't make it any more fun to drive.

You already have a real car in demo, XRT is a Starion if you think really hard and click your heals. :D:nod:

You can kindly donate... couple of hundred million dollars to the devs so can buy few car licences and issue will be fixed then.

if you buy s2 and look closely to the FZR or FZ5 you see its a porsche 911. MRT is real as well, RAC as well.
FOX is something like a Formula 3.
uf1 is a mini-cooper
ufr is a mini-cooper with racing trim
so i think you can relate every car to a real car, just by replacing the naming in the game.
license cost is on 90% of the cars only on the NAME not on the model. but as it is with everything on the world the name sells. (iPod is only an iPod if it is written iPod on it. even if you use the same enclosure and parts in it)
so the licensing argument is not really one. if you really want to have written down in the game "nissan micra", then it is of course a licensing thing

LOL just how popular would LFS be if they modeled real cars, First off, they'd have to only model the cars that the majority of people want. If they did that, they'd just be another race game with the same ol same ol car and track combos. LOL the only real difference between LFS and GTR would be how you wrote the letters.
In a twisted sense, I think the fantasy cars and tracks is what "keeps it real" in LFS. That bit of originality is just one of the things that sets it apart from everything else.
I dunno, if you just HAD to have real cars in the game, instead of the same ol sports cars and race cars, what about cars used in the James Bond movies
or the Munsters car? That was a bad ass ride. Or the Batmobile! The original one. Wait I got it... Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! Man, that car could do anything!

I prefer fantasy tracks,
ive played a few sim racers in my time and can honestly say id rather have an extra fantasy track rather than a real life track here in LFS,
A new fresh challenge instead of a track ive probrably done hundreds of laps around it in other various racing sims,
as for car licences..I like it the way it is

Thats good. I think is important that the physics of the cars are based on a real car. If you just create a fantasy car, you cant make it totally realistic in all aspects.:thumb:
And, i think it would be nice to have real world tracks. I used to watch real Formula 1 races, and had play F1 and nascar, and indycar sims for many time. So i know many famous tracks and this would make easier to learn the tracks and is more fun and you can ask a race car driver for the behaviour of a car in that track so you can make the game more realistic.:scratchch
So, o think that if this game is "realistic" it would be better to have real cars and tracks  . I know it cost money, maybe developers could invest the money they make with s1 and s2 licences.

Funny, I see it as quite the opposite. I think learning a new track that I don't know from other games/sims is more fun.
So, o think that if this game is "realistic" it would be better to have real cars and tracks
I have said this so many times, don't confuse realistic with reality. A sim doesn't get more realistic just because it has content with real brand names on it. Is GT4 realistic because it has "real life" cars although the similarity pretty much ends with the looks? I don't think so.
. I know it cost money, maybe developers could invest the money they make with s1 and s2 licences.
You clearly have no idea of the amount of money we're talking about here. Maybe the devs can use the money they make with LFS to pay their bills and feed themselves? No, they're not starving bums, but I don't think they're swimming in money either.
Licenses for cars and tracks cost money... a lot of it.

We, the progenies of LFS, make the cars and tracks real. Every night when we kiss our loved ones goodbye and climb into our coffins made of aluminum, steel and carbon fibre, powered with liquid explosions and spinning metal.

Real car's would reduce the ability to create something realistic.
With fictional car's dev's only have to care about physics to be realistic wthout having to mimic the properties of real car's.
Every game I have ever driven with "real" cars feels synthetic because characteristics of the original cars have been forced into it.

re real tracks v lfs tracks
in pc gamer they list lfs s2 as their classic driving game and make a point of praising the track design :thumb:

As a twisted individual thats exactly my view too. You could say LFS is real in itself and GTR2 (for example) is a simulated copy of something else or.... a fake.
And I think that plays a major role in the success of LFS.

I've seen with Caribbean cruise that we can show a custom text in the car selection screen. In lfswiki, we have the corresponding cars in real life of the cars in lfs. Could a third party addon show text of the real cars under the cars in the car selection screen?:scratchch
I hope I'm understandable...
