If i download a custom engine sound for the XRT in the demo,and i go online with this custom engine sound. Will the other online players be able to hear my custom engine sound?

As far as I know, no. You're only changing your own volumes, everyone else will still have their own.

(I'm assuming you're using the game editor rather than another program like CSR)

no. in order to do this the engine sounds would have to be downloaded through the game by other players, pretty much similar to the way skins are for S2 licensed racers.
