I can't place objects during a multiplayer game, though I'm logged in as administrator. I'm using our own dedicated server on a lovely fat pipe in a datacenter. Is this where the problem lies? If so, is there an option I've missed in the server config, to allow the use of user-created layouts?

My friends and I wanna mess about together with some ramps, courses etc, but there are too many of us to join a local game and none of us have enough upload bandwidth to cater. Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated!

You cannot place objects remotely as admin on a server.

You either have to make the layouts in Singleplayer (or on your own non-dedicated host in Mulitplayer), save the layout files and upload them to your server's layouts folder. Then you can load layouts remotely with admin access by typing /autox layoutname and it will load it. Other commands are in the readme.

That's exactly what I needed to know. Thank goodness for Remote Desktop!! Thanks Tweaker!
