Frecuently when i change down 1 gear, it change down 2 or more gears.

I have 2 wheels, 1 MS Sidewinder Precision Wheel and 1 Act-Labs RS Racing System. This last, is new.

I have the same problem with both wheels,

Is very unfulfilling is doing a hotlap and have a spin for change down 2 gears when o only press once the button.

My PC:
Pent 4 3.0 ghz
MotherBoard: Asus P4P800-E
G.D.: Nvidia 6600 GT
RAM: 1 Gb

P.D.: Both whells is ok. It dont happen with other games (Nascar 2002 and 2003, GP Legends, GTR, Richard Burns Rally, Colin McRae Rally 04 and 05, F12002, GP 2, 3 and 4, etc...)
Thanks

i haven't heard of this problem before. are you using manual clutch?
i know in S1 (i've never used manual clutch in S2) if you hit the down change twice before hitting the clutch it would drop 2 gears when u did hit the clutch button.

True, Or maybe your catching the button or shifter twice then pressing cluch. Sometime happens to me, as i have 2 sets if pedals which i am still trying to master

do a search on rscnet. i have the same problem with my paddles on the driving force pro. so i just use the shifter stick all of the time now... even with formula cars. Ways to fix it are mentioned on rscnet but i havent tried any of them.

Go to the button-mapping in LFS and look at the "Shift down" and "Shift up" lines.
When you press the according button it's name (f.e. "Button 3") should be highlighted to indicate that LFS has found them being pressed.
Do they work correctly there?
Do they blink twice (f.e. once for pressdown and once for letting the button go) or do they work like they should (continuosly highlighted until you let the button go)?

I have this problem with the MS side-winder FFB wheel, and i think what Niki said is the cause. maybey the button contacts arnt as precise as the used to be. Unfortunalty, I have heard opening this wheel for maintenance is a real pain.

Used to have same issues with my precision wheel. I've got the FF version now and it's starting to have issues aswell. This time it's the paddle being stuck for ~2 seconds causing revs to go wild while changing up. Annoying, but probably fixable by opening the casing and squirting some lubricant up there somewhere ;)

I have got the same problem as well, the thing is that the wheel works perfecly in all my other racing sims :(

I'm not an expert, but I'm fairly positive it's isolated to LFS :(

I have a Microsoft FFB Wheel (USB)
