Hey, this one is allmost offtopic, so if any mod thinks this thread should be moved, be my guest .

In our ongoing quest to understand the devs and know where they may be getting inspiration, I've got another possible clue ;)

I was watching the DTM race at Lausitz today and when they showed an aerial shot my head went HEY! That's Kyoto!

The infield track is a bit different, but some of the corners are there, especially where the infield meets the tri-oval.

I think a lot of the tracks are a combination of many real tracks. I think Kyoto has some relation with a lot of Japanese tracks (as it should), but yes this looks kinda similar too. I forget what track looks kind of like Kyoto in some parts, but I have a link somewhere...........

Had a spurt of memory... the similar track I think is Twin Motegi Ring :)

Kyoto reminds me of Suzuka :)

Coming off the banking into the first few corners (on KY National) is exactly like Turn 1+2 at Indianapolis. Great fun, and a real challenge in the powerful cars.

Kyoto Grand Prix is probably my favourite track, so many great corners.

I was in Kyoto a couple of weeks ago, couldn't find a race track anywhere :(
Nice sushi though.
