clearing cmos help please :(

just fiddled with some settings in bois trying to get a bit more out cpu http://www.hlccl.com/forums/images/smilies/worry_3d.gif and it locks up on memory check.

Is it just straight forward to clear cmos set from pin #1 and #2 to pins #2 and #3 for 30 seconds then put them back to #1 and #2??

Yes, I had to do it last week after overclocking my cpu too much and then having to replace it.

I actually had to replace my cpu as it refused to boot after ocing a 2700+ 333fsb to 400fsb with 2v core. The cooling was fine, I guess the voltage killed it. Needless to say I was very angry with myself and the need to spend £80 or so for a new cpu. Got a 3200+ now though and its smooth.

hmmm think mine should be fine :) didnt do any volt modding thankfully :) going to crack on wiht it in a min anyway hope to be racing soon :)

done and now working fine , but one thing that has happend is zonealarm has stoped working now and i cant uninstal it :( :( any ideas how i can sort this maybe registry edits but i dont know what to look for :(
