New to the scene. I mean I have been playing LFS for a while just want to start drifting. Anyhow. I have a Logitech Momo steering wheel and I was wondering if anyone has any tutorials on drifting in LFS or any profile setups they can give me?
Thanks

the best tip is to practice
again and again
first , you have to have good setups for drifting , and adjust your options ( your controls , sensibility , etc. )
start slowly to drift . just make small and slow drift , and increase your speed when you are in control
I hope I helped you , and good luck ! :)

Download the inferno setup packs as they have great drift setups.
Look up drift bible on you tube and watch that vid. It gives you ALL the info you need.
Then practice.

It just takes time. Well, I got BL reversed in the XRT down in two days, but just start slow, and keep revs high. Don't baby the throtle, and don't bring O/L on too fast or else you will wreck the drift.

noone told me how to drift like i drift now, i have never watched any tutorials. so just go to the blackwood reverse and use this setup - made by Alucard (attachment) or any other drift setup.

Be gentle with controls, don't rush it and try to maintain angle by adjusting throttle and steering, small adjustments with throttle.
When you initiate drift, for example with engine braking and jerking steering, you need to catch that tail so there you need to be quick, same time when you are turning to catch that tail you apply throttle so tail stays out, after that it is just using throttle to keep wheels spinning and steering to control angle, lift a bit if it is trying to oversteer too much and increase throttle if it tries to grip, this is then where practising pays off.
I recommend practising slalom with cones, there you learn lot of things, weight transfer for example which is crucial to know before you can make nice drifts.

I would suggest starting with the RB4 too, that seems to be the easiest car to drift with. The power is just enough so that you can floor it and keep the car sliding nicely in place... provided you set yourself up correctly first. That's important too, just like there's the fastest line for racing, there's the best line for drifting, and that includes comming in at the right speed as well. All that just takes practice, and then eventually the XRT will be easier to control, since you do need to be careful with the throttle on that one, too much gas there and the back end comes right around, which gets really fustrating if you ask me. It's not easy to work on all that at once in the XRT anyways, or any car for that matter. Besides, i think the RB4 is more fun anyways.
Oh, and the drift bible is great, as already mentioned. That really helps, if you don't know the techniques for starting a drift it will be much more difficult and probably just fustrating eventually since you'll have a hard time figuring out why the car isn't doing what you want it to. Good luck and have fun.

He's a demoooooo racer.... but anyway, the RB4 is 4WD, and it tends to understeer. And yeah, i had great difficulties with drifting long ago, as i only have a mouse. Now im still using that blardy mouse.... So my lap times are incredibly slower... 1:40:xx with XRT drifting on BLGP Rev only :(

If you're a good racer, you're a good drifter. The skills and knowledge that come with being able to control the car are all you need to start drifting.
If you have those, the only thing left to do is PRACTICE. Get out there and see what happens when you crank the wheel hard. Don't get frustrated, nobody was good when they started :thumb:

i can give only one, but imo usefull tip.
dont steer with the wheel while u drift, do it with acclerating / declerating.
at the beginng it might be the best to do it mouse like (full or no throttle) and later go to the smoother version :)

ThanksFor first time at drifting in LFS, i recommend stabilized Keyboard, so you can see what is drifting.
And if you want some 40-90 degree drifts, just push gas pedal, or if you have the brake balance in back, push brake. Hope it helps.
