So there can be every race 2 different drivers for 1 same team ?
That would be so good, cause the main problem here is that a lot of our Cabbies are on our hollidays, work or are forced by their wives to spend time with them instead of LFS :pillepall
So if we can change drivers every race we can participate all events most likely, if not...we'll get in some trouble perhaps. Difficult time of the year too, after January..

Oké thanks :)
We'll check it out then and try to plan already who can race when... It will be comparing calenders and agenda's but I think we can sort it out and will participate, however: the pm will follow with the definitive answer!
PS: is there a special price for the team that ends last ?

Will that team ending last be MG? :schwitz:hehehe
It is kind of obvious that we should change drivers as we please, then each team can give their best per race. :D

No Information about the RaceSystem and Co.
I guess Cyber Racing will not race... as long as we dunno anything about racetime, etc.
Did you bother to read the 1st post? There is a FULL calendar of dates and eveery race is at 10.00 UTC
According to their website (http://www.fusion-racing.net/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,63/topic,427.0/) there will be a 10 minutes practise, 20 - 30 qualifying, 1 hour race.

And the only thing that we are not comfortable with is the time that you race. I would be racing from PST on the West Coast here, I have no problem how late or early it is, I've gotten used to that for leagues like this. But our other teammates that would most often race would be racing at 10am??? Come on now :x Make it racing for later in the day. But I guess it is because Fusion is an Australian team and that DOES NOT work out.
Take it from me, racing times to try and meet with Australian teams is not easy. Nations Cup had to find something that would be the slightest bit comfortable for everyone. And the majority of these teams racing are European based..... Australia should be racing at a time that it is comfortable for people in Europe if anything. Australia should race at midnight in my opinion. That leaves Europe to start in the middle of the day. I'd have to start in the early morning, haha.
Point is, if you're going to invite all these European teams, the time should be comfortable for them, not Fusion ;) (regardless if you're the ones running it).

The [noobs] would also prefer to start the races later because the current start time rules out our american members.
PaulC2K
12th December 2006, 16:25
Make it 12 hours later, 3-5pm in USA, 10-12pm Europe, 8-10am for Aussies
Let the minority and the ones wanting everyone to participate in there series have the awkward timeslot and the other 2 continents race at a sensible time, as unless im mistaken, Fusion is the only team that doesnt have its majority of racers living in Europe, i dont recognise any of those teams as American/Aussie (which may be wrong) so it seems odd to expect your target audience to participate at such a crazy time for 2hrs, either of the early AM for the yanks or the middle of Saturday for Europeans, no sleep, shopping or previous night hang-overs allowed.
Our active racers have all commented, and its a resounding 'not at that time!' from pretty much everyone.

hmmm, i prefer 10am now ;)
Havent checked with the guys in Mercury but on the assumption that your allowing for the change of start time to allow other teams to confirm they'll compete (ie the friday cut-off is extended to allow those not in to still take part), i'd say its safe to say Mercury should be able to honour everyone with our fine presence ;).

20.00 Server opens with practise
20.10 Qualify starts
20.40 Qualify ends
20.45 Race starts
21.35 End race (about)
All this in a Saturday evening. Hmm ... personaly I don't mind but ... have you guys all confirmed this? I don't mind and I get a two man team ready for this but we don't like to run around the track all by ourselves ... :D

Hey Guys,
Just to let you know T7R wont be able to take part in this competition.
Saturdays are just not good for us, as most people have other things to do on weekends. As we cannot be sure that we'll always have 2 drivers we'd prefere not to compete.
On behalf of the entire team we thank you for considering us and we hope your league goes well :thumb: It's a really nice concept.

Out of interest, while were in the early stages still, is there going to be any minimum for required drivers taking part in this series?
It being a team event, Mercury could run with 2-3 drivers and be fine with that, or we could enter into the spirit of things and throw 4-6 different people out perhaps not our strongest line-up but still decent drivers rather than just plan to pwn with the same 2-3 drivers.
*Personally* i'd prefer to see a minimum of say 4 people need to take part per team.
From a Mercury viewpoint, we'd take no minimum and be fine with that, i fancy doing a round myself and im easily the slowest at Mercury.
Eitherway, i just thought i'd bring it up, it may be something you've already decided or maybe hadnt thought of, but would be nice to know if any such rule (any others too would be handy) had been decided.

Looking at the league name, I see no fun in letting only 2 or 3 drivers from our team participate. :)

there is no min or max for the number of drivers it just makes it more flexable for the teams
with little or lots of team members.
as along as you have 2 drivers to represent your team at each round thats all that matters

It's not the same two members each round, so no pitty :)
What Arrow is saying is that any 2 members of the team can race and it doesn't have to be the same members each time. You can pick 2 different people for each race if you have enough members in your team. Or pick the people that are the best at certain combos to race.
Hope that clears it up and I've got it right. It would really be a shame if it were only limited to the same 2 people from a team.

erm, no they're not!
Cyber & Ocrana were both invited, both declined for whatever reason which is a shame but certainly wont make things any the less interesting. Mercury will be sending out a few drivers not just the fastest pair for a specific combo, entering into the spirit of things and letting everyone that wants to take part have a go. Shame they couldnt have done the same, even if the 'big guns' couldnt/wouldnt take part, but whatever, their loss.

Top Left going across:
Ocrana, SERT, [noobs]
Cyber, Clownpaint, sccc, 1st
T7R, MG
Mercury
Plus Fusion makes the originally invited 10 teams, when the teams declined to enter those places were opened up and people could apply for a place, they've been taken now, and im pretty sure MUROC didnt ask for a place. It a europe heavy series really, maybe in the future more of a mix will be involved, maybe Ocrana and Cyber wont chicken out... who knows.
As for Clownpaint and Elite, cant say i've heard of Elite (has anyone other than Elite?) and cant really say anything about clownpaint either, they seem to have a forum presence and outside of that i've no idea (from my own perspective/viewpoint), they seem to have built a team on this forum and 'whored it' a bit, but I cant really recall seeing them on the track anytime.

Elite is a very good Belgian racing team. They dominate the 'VRL league' for quiet some years, a Belgian league for the Dutch speaking people from Belgium only and yes, the level of that league isn't perhaps like MoE or others, but it has a high standard. Sorry Elite to spoil your underdog roll here, but you all will have to look out for them for sure, even Mercury. As the name said, they are the Elite of the Belgian LFS community. They are also known beside tacing in the VRL in the previous 'RCX rally league' (believe it was RCX, pardon me if wrong),where all the fastest rally racers drove and even there they were present at the top. That's all I can think off at first moment...but I'm sure they drove much more. They also raced several team battles (vs Muroc,...).
Clownpaint I haven't met in any leagues personally so can't form an opinion about them, however I've heared they do have very good racers a board.
The fact that SCCC was invited is an huge honour, and we are really pleased about that. Unfortunately SCCC is,as most say, a classic LFS team, but not orientated on the hardcore league racing, more the having fun racing. Some say we aren't a team, just a bunch of friendly clowns, that is correct, but don't underestimate our racing quality's ;) I personally think it's a shame we don't turn up, but I can't force any other member to cancel a family trip to race in this, when I'm not racing myself and we don't have a sort of 'teamleader' or so. We are no Cyber or Ocrana who are teams (in my eyes) pure for the "serious big leagues racing", like ESL ect... Therefor I have a slight tendensy to support Mercury above Ocrana, cause altough they are gods on the track, they stay acting like humans and don't forget to have fun with other (slow) racers in public servers. While like the people from Ocrana, beside one race with Vince (which I barely see online anymore since he's Ocrana) and two times seeing a Nilyn online I haven't met anyone accidently on a public server from Ocrana. I call that a shame.
Anyway, I wish every team good luck, much fun and some great action!
We'll start training with our Cabs secretly for next year ^^

OK, what is my point? My point is that we will not have best team on this competition!!! My personal opinion is that Ocrana, Mercury and Cyber are the best. Only Mercury is here so he will probobly win
Edit: @ moe - lol

you must stop for fuel
Hummm never noticed this rule before.. but since the first race is coming saturday already I won't complain :x
Could you please explain what you mean with "stop for fuel" though? 1% refueling will do?

the least amount of fuel you can fill up with is 5%
you have to actual stop in the pit bay you cant just do a drive through, I hope thats clear

you must stop for fuel
Huh? So I HAVE TO refuel at the pitstop? :pillepall Howīs that going to work? In LFS you canīt just add x% of fuel. You have to set how much you want in the tank in total. And since Iīm not sure on which lap Iīll pit, Iīll have to calculate the amount of fuel needed and set on F12 menu mid-race? Besides how are you gonna check it? You canīt see what work has been done on other cars. Maybe I misunderstood what you meant. I hope so.:)
I personally think forced pitstop is a stupid idea but Iīll get flamed for that soon so Iīll shut up. :x

How about a test run before the race to decide a strategy? :really:

Won't get any flaming from me, I thoroughly agree and I'm glad you mention it :tilt:

i think u guys are making a big deal out of nothing, just fill the car with as much fuel as you think you will need and set the pit stop to 5% then when it stops it will only repair damage and not add any fuel but you have stopped

Yeah, but then I havenīt "stopped for fuel" as it says in the rules. I always play by the rules.:p
Arrow, imho just change "must stop for fuel" to "must make a pitstop" or something and there will be no confusion. Thereīs no way of checking if people have added fuel or not anyway.:)

well when u pitstop you must fuel up another 5% anyway

You donīt. As I said, in LFS you canīt set how much fuel you want to add, instead you set how much fuel you want in the tank after the pitstop. So if you have more than 5% in the tank before the pitstop it wonīt add more fuel. ;)

nope, if you already have say 7% in your tank it wont add any, if you had it set to fill to 10% and you stopped with 7 it will add the 3% needed to reach 10% ..... aghhhh my head hurts now

Dont you just love it when 1 simple comment causes half a dozen posts just to clarify something ;)
Im pretty sure the rule stands that you must make what LFS classifies as a pit stop, im guessing 'Must Pit' is on, so each driver will have to stop and wait while the pitstop is carried out doing whatever you ask it to do (oh, plus those insignificant damage repairs that take 2hrs just to knock out a dent on the fender!) and then your pit stop is complete.
Unless the rule stands as 'MUST add >5% during the pit-stop' which would be impossible to regulate, im fairly confident that that its just a case of 'Must Pit' being enabled.
