Does anyone else feel it would be good to carry over the stats from the RSC site to here? I never had many posts but its more the join date I like. It kind of represents your time with this great sim. I had played demo for quite a while before joining rsc but it is still a representation. Anyone?

I wanna keep this join date. I joined on my 20th BDay, and it was the date the forums opened.
Makes me feel special. :rofl: :razz:

Yeah, makes you feel better than the person who's joined later... its one of those pen*s lenght things.

So the regdate would be the poor mans postcount replacement e-penis?
Better use both then :D But im sure tristan, aka. Long Dong John, knows more about that.
Regarding the sig sizes, I think people are pretty well behaved here. Fordman's sig is already borderline but still ok ;). The worst are some other forums (with sig images allowed) where every user feels the need to paste his emo poetry together with their LiveJournal self-photograph camera-still-visible-in-mirror (and sometimes combined-with-a-random-amount-of-photoshop-effects) photos, making every post the size of a whole page.

Yea :D generally you can say if someone makes a one line post and the sig doesn't increase the post past the size it would've been anyways (with the avatar that is), it's no problem.

the RSC stats are not related to LFS

I would hardly classify it any sort of "e-penis" Its more a matter of veteran status :P In defence what is the point of a join date if it doesnt matter? It really is no big deal, and I by no means want this to escalate into a heated debate. I just thought it would be a nice addition as it DOES have relevance to the RSC forum on LFS, as each at one point where the official lfs forum. So, when one takes over, you would assume that the other would uphold the stats. Same with people wanting the posts brought over. (as in the topics; very informative and a part of our lfs community)

No it's not, but to some people I guess it is :shrug:
Post count means nothing either ;)

Vic could add a custom profile field where people could enter it. Don't see the point of it though. This is the LFS forum now and in ten years time you'll be able to say, "I was here from the start." :shrug:

Hold your mouse cursor over the name of a user on the left and you can see their LFS user id in the url that appears. These were given in the order that people registered their user name on our site.

Assumption:
If <postcount> == <e-penis>
then
<tristancliffe> == <Long Dong John>
Get it?

I don't post to get my post count up!!!!! I'm all for hiding it tbh...
And I can't get any numbers to appear. :(

You're probably using something like Firefox in that case Tristan. Unlike IE or Opera, the Mozilla browsers dont display the url in the status bar for all links. Right click on the name and check the properities, or right click and open a new window and you'll see the uid :)
Edit: tbh, I hadnt realised I was so "old" in comparison with many people :o

5857th, I win.... :rolleyes:
That is just as pointless as saying who has higher post count, what difference does it make sheesh! :p Think of it as a number representing something else... like 'How many times will I be called a noob this year' :tilt: :shy:

I was playing the demo of LFS about 5/6 months before i registered my name on LFS.net.
So the thing above posted by scawen, is not really an indication of when someone started playing LFS.. ;)
Im not fussed, if the devs wanna remove the join date/post count, then fine by me.
