hi everyone,

I delete the main folder downloaded the latest version (S2 vU i guess) of LFS and unzipped in a folder havin the same name.

And this error comes up again, no way to fix it. I clean system errors (CCleaner), reboot+scandisk and no result.

This error came up without touchin anything, neither in the game config nor in windows XP pro SP2!

Can u help me please, its been 2 days i havent run!!! :p

Thanks

Ps:
Can u tell me which file have i to keep to save my setup(s).

To save your player information, etc, save the \data\misc directory.
To save your setups and colours, save the \data\settings directory.

To resolve your issue, ensure DirectX is installed correctly. You may wish to try reinstalling DirectX over the top. Also check your drivers are correctly installed.

1. Rename cfg.txt to cfg.old.
2. Load LFS
3. Select the correct screen res in game, and setup your options again as required (or you can copy the screen mode line from the new cfg.txt to cfg.old, and return cfg.old to cfg.txt).

If that doesn't work you might need to manually edit the cfg.txt with the required resolution.

Are u sure about that?

It's either graphics card, monitor or DirectX drivers.

To preserve setups you have to make a backup of the <LFS>/data/settings folder :)

Thread moved to Technical Assistance and then found to be duplicated. Closing this one :)

Doh, I had just merged them. 'Ang on...

There we go, dupes removed and thread re-opened. Who said having two eager UK moderators was a good thing? :p

Yes, you must install the latest graphics drivers for your card and if that doesn't fix it, then install the latest DirectX from Microsoft.

The problem is somewhere within DirectX and your Graphics drivers, not correctly reporting the available screen modes.
