If possible, Synergy Racing would like to switch to GT1 with an FZR, reason being that I might race MoE too and it would be a great practice.

Apologies to car #44, I think Catalan was the driver at the time. There was a bit of confusion, I was trying to let you pass going into T4 while you were waiting to pass on the exit. Coming out of the corner we hit because of a lack of concentration and grip on my behalf, sorry.
Despite quite a few crashes I was leading the GT2 class at the 90 minute mark, sadly when my team mate Popeye took over, he had some pedal problems, he was sitting in the pits for awhile. I had to take over again while he fixed it. By the time he rejoined we were two laps behind the leaders of GT2.

Apologies to whichever car ran into the back of us (#22) on the start finish straight a few laps ago.
We had a controller problem, and the car basically stopped responding to the wheel/pedals :(
Seems to be working ok again now, but we're looking into a possible driver swap before the end anyway, just to avoid it happening again.

If it's the incident I recall, don't worry about it, no major harm done, it's hard lapping you fast GT2 guys when I'm barely faster in the FZR :thumb:

There was a HUGE accident in the last hour of the race, in the s/f straight, that scared the f*** out of me, two cars flying and bouncing on both sides of the road. Looked like a warp hit, I'd like to know what really happened.
EDIT: Other than that, smooth race and very fun. These series are great!

Woo! That was fun ^.^
Whoever took the sceen shot at the end, are you going to post it on here?
@need
If thats the incident I think you're talking about, no major problems. I had worse issues my first few laps out. Like rolling my car. Plus, wasn't there like 3 people trying squeeze through that point? Thats probably where half the problem came from. Oh well, I took a brief pitstop and it was all better!
On a side note, I've realized today how important it is not to over-rev. I have a nasty habbit of skipping forth while downshifting, and when I REALLY need to stop, skipping 3rd as well and dropping straight into second for the two slow turns. Towards the end of the race, I was no longer reaching 6th gear at the end of the straights, and I was having problems passing the GT2 guys :D. Man were you all quick.. I think if it had lasted much longer I'd of been lapped by the slower class.:schwitz:
Anywho, Good race! See yall on the track next time around!
p.s.
I can't seem to remember WHO, but I tapped someone's back about halfway through. It was a GT2 class, comming to the turn after the chicane, it wasn't too hard and you didn't spin out, but still sorry about it.
Sorry about that!

Definately not SCCC's final result. According to LFSWorld, we finished 17 laps behind. Can't say for certain but I think TKT didn't finish.

Accepted! :)
I've just watched the mpr of this, and his pedals really messed him up :(
We knew he was having intermitent problems with the throttle pedal, sometimes not giving him full throttle. We thought it was fixed, but reckoned we could live with it if it re-occured mid-race (he'd simply be a little slower, and we're off the pace of most of the field anyway :P )
On this occassion though, mid-way down the straight, his brake went full on, and wouldn't go off, so it was basically like he'd thrown an anchor out the car.
We'll make sure this is fixed for the next race, most likely by replacing those wheel/pedals. Looks like they are seriously faulty.

Hi all,
Quite a good race.
Was a bit unhappy with some of the overtaking by the GT1 cars. Yes you are much faster, and we are blueflagged, and yes it is easy to get past us GT2's but sometimes it is just utter wreckless overtaking. Twice I was hit from behind by lappers when it was a totally bad place/time to overtake.
The worst time being, when I was battling with someone heading towards the chicane, we start to have a fight and move on eachother and then blue flag appears. What happens, litterally 2 seconds later, WHACK, GT1 car trying to squeeze in between us, stupid move, why not wait for us to get out of line in the corner?
Shinrar
20th November 2006, 16:41
I agree. Several times I was surrounded by GT1 cars performing dangerous manuevers. I personally didn't have a problem, having survive each of the encounters without any sort of damage with two exceptions, both of which were apoligized for.
But some examples... The straight and then slow left hander followed by the right hander after the chicane: Once as I was making a pass on a GT2 car that went wide so I could go on the inside, I suddenly had a GT1 car barrel through between us on the right hander turn, tapping both me and the GT2 car to do it (I heard a tap, I wasn't effected, then I felt and heard a second tap). At this point in the race I was pacing pretty slow because of engine damage, which is how he blew by me so fast, but when I'm ALREADY on the curb, about to touch the grass, and someone hits me trying to get past on my right, somethings wrong... But both me and the GT2 car continued along, so I ignored it.
Several times on Spectator as well, I saw cars go 3 wide into T2. I'm pretty sure I saw one attempt to go 4 wide, which I just thought was odd. It was a mixed class combination most of the time, two GT1 cars and a GT2, or visa versa. But going more than 2 wide into that turn is not only dangerous, but it slows you more than is worth it. But people did it anyways.
All in all though, you must admit. For a 3 hour race, there wasn't that many incidents. Especially considering it was a mixed field. But then again, this was my first league race, so I may no know what I'm talking about :shy:
Hoellsen
20th November 2006, 20:20
Especially with the high speed differences, it should be the first and highest priority of GT1 cars to pass on the straight, not in braking zones and not in corners.
This is a basic principle of endurance racing: you dont put yourself and others at risk. Just compare a squeeze-through pass to a wait-2s-and-pass-on-straight pass. The former you risk a crash and serious damage that at best will cost you 4-5s at the next pit stop, the latter is a totally risk free pass that only costs you 2s in that one turn, no more. It is a no-brain decision, really.
And we will also keep that in consideration when deciding on teams applying for MoE: those who don't understand basic principles of endurance racing simply will not be invited. Keep in mind that ultimately we want to have multiple classes in MoE as well.
