Note that the triangle is a solid one and the asterix is in the middle and is a circle when typed. I know crashers use it but is it linked to a particular group?

Exceptions apply. I know one or two people who use that (or similar) and are respected and perfectly capable of racing properly in a serious racing simulation.

AFAIK it is not associated with any particular group or crasher (see preceeding paragraph), just a smiley there as any other.

Just about everytime I've seen it though, it means the typer is a village idiot by trade. I would launch into a rant about what two village idiots working in tandem did to me today but I'll say this. I'm getting mighty sick of people who press 1 for a ban vote because someone told them to eg: Press 1 for nitrous, press 1 to ban this n00b etc. It's even worse when people vote for you to get banned for driving cleanly but won't vote for the idiots who park up in the middle of the road and smash into people.

PCCD I think the moral of this story is buy S2 Licence as soon as you can there is a much better crowd than on the demo servers and I see very few kicks or bans just lots and lots of fair racers and many great races :)

I'm sure there are some actual n00bs who think that they don't qualify as newbies because they've played the game twice.

I will confess though, I have used the "press 1 for NOS" thing to get rid of a wrecker before. He claimed that him parking up on the chicane and driving into everyone was my fault :shrug:

I thought I remembered you from a previous, very involved discussion on the differences between demo and S2 servers that you started, so went to see.

Nothing, as far as I can figure out, is different from before. The demo user decent:tosser ratio is about the same as ever, where the S2 licenced decent:tosser ratio continues to favour the decent driver by about 50,000:1 (guestimate, 80% confidence).

I can only suggest the same thing as everyone suggested last time. Until/unless you spring for a licence (http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=212705#post212705), I'm pretty confident that the next 6 weeks will be comparable to the last 6 weeks. Only you can make the change :)

I have you know, iDi Mafia is/was actually fast, I told him he sucked back in my demo days because he crashed us and had a DECENT rcae with him, this was old patch but I guess you can't lose being fast at BL.

And I doubt it's the same one, I bet numerous people use the same name, some people are idiots I guess so they will think its cool to be Mafia. :tilt:
