Made this movie that depicts how LFS should be :) in my opinion.

(version without Music!)

(hosted in lfs moviepit! version WITH music)

Not finished yet, there are audio anomalies and I want some sort of storyline in there. Recently found out about camera controls so I want them in there too.

Some info:
I made a storyboard of how I wanted the shots to be and what hotspots were needed. I then created setup for the AI with hybrid tyres so he drifts a lot, gave myself almost the same setup only with higher grip tyres so I could keep up easily.

Had the AI learn the tracks for 5 laps (not too long or else they would stop drifting), then made a reply driving behind them.

My driving is crap and wobbly but you don't really notice it that much in the vid, makes it look a bit more real though.

Then I used Fraps demo version to record the entire replay per camera point so I could freely edit them in Premiere Pro to my liking.

I have a big collection of Supra movies downloaded from the web and owners, sought out the right ones for each clip to get the cool sound effects :D. The sound effects were the reason I wanted to do this in the first place.

So I then proceeded to edit the stuff in Premiere and put some nice music under it.

I see this as V0.7 of the movie, feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance,

Supra TwinTurbo (lfs name)

p.s. Movie soon to be hosted on LFS moviepit!

Nice video :) its to bad we cant add our own blow off valves that actually sound good, with that silly looping it does.. hopefully they will fix that so we can add custom 1's :)

get the sound you want and record a length of quietness for about 5 secs

then put it in.. that works :)

basically by the sounds of what happens is it loops and goes quiet. so if you put a quietness on the end by the time its going to loop again its sooooo quiet you cant hear it

:)

Thanks everyone!

I am still a noob in game capturing. Editting a bit better.

I am still not glad the way it turned out, maybe do the whole thing again next week. I am stuck with this idea and I have to get it out.

Nice video, some great camera angles there, and good use of sounds. Only fault is the music, too many people are using that kind of music now...and I really hate it.

LOL didn't knew that. I remembered it from a while ago and thought it would sound cool. Will use other music in future :).

Thanks for the tip ScHiZ!

they say the type of music a person listens to shows much about his or her personality

why's it matter :p

That type of music doesn't get me hyped up at all. Besides, when I listen to music that does get me hyped up when I racing I tend to race badly. Like when I am listening to Iron Maiden, I just cannot race.

but still better than those racing videos with heavy metal 'music' :)

Completely disagree ;)

Nice video, that is some good work :D

However, what are you making here? A music video or a racing video? The music was way too loud. I don't care what kind of music it was, it was just too loud and detracted from the racing... a lot.

Have to agree with my fellow racers here, the music was too dominant in the video, but I wouldn't say that I didn't like the music itself. Each to his own I guess. Personally I never hear music when racing, it just makes me drive like crap.

Besides that, there was IMO a wee bit too much drifting involved in the "racing" you showed there, but atleast one message got through: the "gripper" won :D. Nice video otherwise.

(No hate against drifters, but if LFS was meant to be played like this, then it would quite honestly suck)

Nice vid, im with the others though, the music ruins it.. Did you save the project file? Would be nice to get a version with no music at alll..

Am i the only one who's getting fed up of all the drifter bashing by certain members?

Seriously, if you dont like it, fine, but theres no need to tell us at every opportunity you get... You dont hear all the drifters going round saying "Omg i hate grip racing, they suxxors.." do you? :really:

Well, I think tyre wear already filtered out many of the wannabe drifters and it is (was) mainly their behaviour that gave "the drifters" a bad reputation to begin with. I think it's on a much more professional level now and as long as they don't invade normal servers (which I have never seen them do before, so no offence) I'm fine with 'em.

No, I don't love Drifting, but I accept the fact that LFS is a good and fun game to drift in, ergo, people will make up drifting teams, I've never had any problems with Drifters on grip servers.

Hell, I might even join them once a while, even if I suck.

Nice video Shademaster, I bet your next one will be even better too.

Many of the drifters are also racers and hold very competitive HLVC hot lap positions in a variety of cars and on various tracks anyway, so bashing them is a bit presumptuous besides being disrespectful. People will enjoy Live For Speed in many different ways as they wish and the more licenses that are sold makes S3 more of a reality. Good for all of us. You don't see too many people bashing the Cops & Robbers guys yet that is certainly not how this sim was designed to be used. They have their fun though don't they? No harm done, more power to them, I say. We're all in this together folks and we will all approach LFS in our own way. It is refreshing to witness a very friendly vibe on these LFS forums, I'm quite enjoyng it.

Couldnt have said it better..

Everyone plays this game/sim/whatever in different way's, just gotta accept it people..

Just last night, i was having a game of curling (of all things) with a few cool peeps on an s2 server... I had a blast..

Thats what i love about LFS, it doesnt restrict you to "just" racing, theres heaps of stuff you can do in LFS.

If it was racing only, i dont think i would still be playing LFS..

My opinion on drifting? It is for showmanship ofcourse, not speed. Seeing cars going around corners with perfect traction and speed isn't gonna cut it in an action orientated movie, in my opinion it would look just dull.

Reuploaded the movie without music!

Soundquality is very high so enjoy! Sorry my taste for music wasn't what people expected, I visualized this while listening to it so I thought it would be appropiate to share in that experience.
