When you are already on a server you won't notice it. The problem now is to find a server and join it.

the master server seems back up, however the host I want to join seemingly still hasn't come back on it, I know the server is still working because I can hear the chat from it in ventrilo.

He's just saying there should be a fail-over plan so that if there's a problem with the master server it doesn't result in total loss of connection to it by the clients.

2006: LFS master server down. Panic spreads on LFS forums.

A master server disappearance has occured just few minutes ago leaving hundreds of millions LFSsers without the ability leave their real life and join to racing servers. The casualties so far are five hundred thousand people killed and injuring scores more.

The server problems have shocked the LFS community which had seemed immune from acts of terrorism that have plagued other sims of the world.
