The title says it. Normally there would be a separate thread just for one person, so why won't we have all of the B-day congrats in one thread? We have this kind of thread in RSC's GeneRally-section, and in my opinion it works great. You can always see the b-day boys in the bottom of the main site.
So, I'll start by saying

!!!Happy 38th Birthday Sean_S35 and Happy 34th Birthday crumbut!!!

(if this really is a bad idea, lock it up and give me warning...)
(P.S if and when we have OT-forum, this thread could be moved there)

Good idea. Giving your digital mates a barfday surprise is nice but they shouldnt clutter the board. Keeping it all in a topic makes us all happy!

So who's next for a Crappy Barfday?

Ok, it's a good start, but it would be even better if you vote here:
http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=17
and move it there ;)

Happy birthday to anyone who gets to be the partypig in this thread.

There, I'm finished for the rest of my membership here, i never have to congratulate anyone anymore.

I like the idea of this thread being an archive of birthdays, but I still think some people deserve a front page mention. After a day or two that thread can be merged with this, so people get birthday exposure, whilst the forums remain tidy and organised.

I don't think it's much more work for the mods. They quite regularly move/merge threads, so they cope ;)

Personally I think it would be better to just move the "Today's birthdays" thingy someplace more visible... like to the header of the General discussion? And congratulate with PM's if you actually know the person, instead of making a thread for it.

Excluding the people who create duplicate threads / ask the same questions over and over again, I think the birthday threads were the most annoying thing in the "old" LFS forum at RSC.
