Reinstall the horn in the formula cars. Though not entirely realistic, neither is the way many people drive on public servers. The horn is a great "hey, i'm right here next to you" signal.

-1
It was rediculous and over used by people who all too frequently where not justified in pressing the blasted thing.

Look left, look right and use your mirrors and common sense. If they were catching you, they're not in your mirrors and they're not ahead, then they must be alongside. Easy.
If you can't watch your mirrors and drive at the same time then motor racing isn't for you.

So because you feel one aspect isn't realistic, it doesn't matter if we make other parts unrealistic too?
Definite -1 from me, horns on formula cars are silly. And I think they're annoying. It's up to the guy in front to check his mirrors and sides.

I agree there is over use of the horn in LFS. People should remember it is perceived as being aggressive.

What do you think he meant?
The formula cars used to have horns installed, they were subsequently removed.

It's kind of comical to have a formula racecar honking its way through the pack. Here comes MICHEAL SCHUMACHER in his Ferrari F2006:
Honk! Honk! Get away, coming through!
Anyway, LFS is suppose to be a SIM. Anything this arcadey gets my boot.

I don't give a s**t if it has a horn. Real life F1 cars don't have handbrakes AFAIK.

Realistic: No
Annoying because of overuse: Yes
Should people simply pay attention to who is around: Yes
Now for the reality.
1) People often DON'T pay close enough attention.
2) Getting wrecked out of a race is much much more annoying than a horn happy driver.
3) People often use the "didn't know you were there" excuse to justify deliberately wrecking another racer.
There are aspects of sims that make them inherently unrealistic. These aspects can be used to improve the experience or to worsen the experience.
The cars are free and fully repaired simply by hitting shift+s. How realistic is that? Its not. At all. And the result is little respect for in game property (ie, the car).
So, for lack of common courtesy and respect, for lack of driver awareness, and for the existence of human pettiness, I suggest putting a horn back onto the Formula cars.

Why not just removed shift-s (until at least the end of a session, or with a time delay a la nKP)? That way two unrealistic things are removed, rather than adding lots of unrealistic features for the simple reason that we already have some unrealistic features so we might as well have a dozen more.

+1 for junking Shift S and reset provided midrace join is removed.
