hey this game has great physics for damage, but when i drive at 120+ and slam into a wall the car just bounces off like a rubber ducky, and it only bears the damage of a 25-30mph colision, and im able to drive off into the sunset

and when i do actually create a head on collision with another AI racer at about 120+ both ways, the cars bounce off of each other like oppossing magnets, but when a real car hits another car at that kinda speed head on they kinda sink into each, kinda desintagrate, tires come off, doors come off and parts fly, maybe they bounce off a lil, but im sure thier not thrown the length of a football feild.

i know this aint demoliction racer but the crashes have to be more realistic

damage and wear is essential to a racer sim, in the real world almost any car crash over 60+ leaves you with a totaled car.

but i gotta hand it to them, this game by far has the best damage models ive seen, so good that i think they can produce what i suggested above.

The damage model is only early in development and you are right about it not being perfect. What you may not know is that originally the S2 version of LFS was only going to have suspension and tyre damage and no body damage until S3... hence why it's rather basic at present :)

Hopefully by the time LFS S2 is no longer an Alpha version the damage model will get some improvements, it would be good. :)

Edit: In case this is your first version of LFS... LFS is being developed in three stages known as S1, S2 & S3. S1 version only had the basic engine damage model.

With F1 cars, when they hit a wall, they destroy the suspension, and ends with a wheel completly unusable, with S2 alpha, you can hit a wall at any speed that suspension arms don't brake, only blend

I think one of the three developers once mentioned that the only reason damage is in is because they wanted suspension damage. If it just had suspension damage and no visual car damage, well that would just be stuipid.

Its also there to stop people using walls as steering - which is why you get more damage from side impacts than head on collisions.
